Help! FAQs

I receive a lot of similar questions, so I’ve listed the most-asked ones here for you.

Think of your Cricut as a printer that cuts instead of using ink basically.

In order to cut anything other than Cricut cartridges on a Cricut, you need 1 of these softwares: either Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) or Make The Cut (MTC) Both of these are very similar to Cricut Design Studio in that you design on your computer screen and print on your Cricut.

Cricut and Cricut Design Studio:  Cuts only with the cartridges that you can physically plug into the cricut machine.  The Gypsy is a portable unit that contains CDS.

Note: There is also a great book-on-CD that we promote (for someone else, I didn’t create this one) that is fantastic to train you on CDS and your Cricut.  It is called Taming The Green Bug and you can get more info in it herewww.budurl.com/TamingTheGreenBug .

SCAL and MTC: Cut anything other than the files in a Cricut cartridge.
